The amount displayed as a potential return is not always the amount that arrives in a mobile wallet.
Three layers to separate
- Ticket calculation: stake multiplied by the applicable odds and settled under the market rules.
- Displayed deductions: any tax or other legally required deduction shown by the operator.
- Payment-network charge: a fee connected to delivering a withdrawal to the mobile wallet.
The current betPawa Zambia terms state that payment-service providers may impose charges or taxes and that applicable taxes can be deducted from prizes or winnings before the account is credited. ZambiaWin did not find a reliable current public Zambia-specific rate table during this review, so figures from another country should not be reused.
Keep a transaction record
Compare the bet confirmation, account statement, withdrawal record and wallet receipt. Record the gross amount, every deduction shown, operator-side withdrawal amount and network charge separately. This avoids describing a provider charge or statutory deduction as an unexplained operator loss.
Example method
If an account shows a settled return, first record any deduction line. When withdrawing, record the amount requested and any network charge. The difference between gross potential return and wallet receipt can then be reconstructed rather than guessed.
Rates, thresholds and their application can change. ZambiaWin provides an explanation, not tax advice.
